Regular Season Round 8: Zamora - Melilla 90-81

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Melilla (4-4) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Zamora (4-4) 90-81 on Saturday. Zamora made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game, while Melilla only scored nine points from the stripe. Zamora forced 20 Melilla turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Puerto Rican guard Bobby Harris (185-91, college: AIC) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 4 assists and naturalized Lithuanian forward Erikas Kalinicenko (198-97) who added 20 points during the contest. Four Zamora players scored in double figures. Australian power forward Damian Prgomet (208-96, college: SW Baptist) responded with 21 points and 9 rebounds and British-Algerian forward Jamal Tahraoui (199-95, college: USAO) scored 14 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zamora moved-up to sixth place in Silver. Zamora will meet Moron (#7) in the next round. Melilla will play against Burgos and hope to secure a win.
