Regular Season Round 12: Leioa - Burgos Nissan 76-83

Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Burgos Nissan (7-6) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Leioa (3-10) 83-76 on Saturday. Burgos Nissan made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Argentinian forward Gonzalo Corbalan (191-2, college: LCU) who scored 30 points and 5 rebounds (went 13 for 13 at the free throw line !!!). Point guard Angel Infante (180-98) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Burgos Nissan players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Juan Torres (198-92) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 19 rebounds and forward David Pena (192-97) added 8 points and 5 assists respectively. Leioa's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Burgos Nissan moved-up to eighth place in Group A-A. Newly promoted Leioa stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. They share it with Santander. Burgos Nissan will meet at home higher ranked Getxo (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Leioa will play against Ardoi (#6) in Zizur Mayor and hope to secure a win.
