Regular Season Round 13: Chelmno - Miedzychod 72-139

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Chelmno (0-13) was smashed at home by sixth ranked Miedzychod (9-4) 139-72 on Saturday. Miedzychod dominated down low during the game scoring 92 of its points in the paint compared to Chelmno's 38 and made 17-of-17 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Miedzychod forced 23 Chelmno turnovers and had a 37-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 44 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Chelmno's players. Marcin Wrobel (200-87) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side and point guard Damian Szymczak (186-95) accounted for 21 points and 11 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Five Miedzychod players scored in double figures. Miedzychod's coach Marcin Chodkiewicz felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Karol Marciniak (194-96) came up with 26 points and 6 rebounds and Michal Schreiber (202-81) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Chelmno in the defeat. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Miedzychod. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Chelmno lost their thirteenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 13 games lost. Miedzychod will meet at home SMS PZKosz (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chelmno will have a break next round.
