No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Leon (9-4) outleveled at home 15th ranked Oviedo 2 (1-12) 86-63 on Sunday. Leon dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Oviedo 2's 32. Leon forced 21 Oviedo 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 49-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Argentinian swingman Federico Copes (199-2) who scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Alan Morchon (188-99) chipped in 8 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Leon's coach Luis Castillo felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Alejandro Rodriguez (188-98) who recorded 14 points and 7 rebounds and Mario Mendez (-3) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Leon maintains fifth position in Group A-B with 9-4 record. Oviedo 2 lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth place with 12 games lost. Leon will meet Marin (#7) on the road in the next round. Oviedo 2 will play against Betanzos (#8) and hope to win that game.
