Seventh ranked Trieste (6-4) saved a 1-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers Trento (6-4) 70-69 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Trento. Trieste players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Israeli Adrian Banks (191-86, college: Arkansas St.) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 4 assists. Latvian Andrejs Grazulis (202-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Johnathan Williams III (206-95, college: Gonzaga) replied with 15 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import Desonta Bradford (191-96, college: ETSU) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Trento. Four Trento players scored in double figures. Trento's coach Emanuele Molin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Trieste moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Trento. Trieste will play against bottom-ranked Fortitudo BO (#16) in Bologna in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Trento will play at home against Tortona (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
