Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Afyon Bld (3-7) was outscored by first ranked Fenerbahce (10-1) in Istanbul 100-51 on Sunday. Fenerbahce dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Afyon Bld's 34. They outrebounded Afyon Bld 41-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. Fenerbahce looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Afyon Bld's players. It was an exceptional evening for Jordanian center Ahmad Al-Dwairi (209-93) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. French guard Nando De Colo (196-87) accounted for 13 points and 8 assists for the winning side. Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. American Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) came up with 13 points and 5 rebounds and the former international power forward Ayberk Olmaz (210-96) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Afyon Bld in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fenerbahce have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record. Afyon Bld lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Buyukcekmece. Fenerbahce's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Galatasaray.
