Very important is a home loss of second ranked AEK Larnaca (7-2) against fifth ranked Omonia (5-4) on Sunday night. Host AEK Larnaca was crushed by Omonia in Larnaca 88-65. The game without a history. Omonia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 19 AEK Larnaca turnovers. Omonia shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 59.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for American forward Donovan Smith (207-93, college: Quinnipiac) who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Irish guard Sean Flood (188-96, college: Longwood) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners. Four Omonia players scored in double figures. American guard Quentin Snider (188-95, college: Louisville, agency: GoEmpire Group) answered with 21 points and the other American import power forward Eden Ewing (204-97, college: Texas Southern) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for AEK Larnaca. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Omonia maintains fifth place with 5-4 record. Defending champion AEK Larnaca still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Omonia will play against Apollon (#8) in Limassol in the next round. AEK Larnaca will play on the road against AEL (#7) in Limassol and hopes to get back on the winning track.
