Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Alginet (3-5) was outplayed on the road by third ranked Cartagena (6-2) 87-53 on Sunday. Cartagena outrebounded Alginet 41-30 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Samuel Rodriguez (202-97) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and American swingman Bakary Camara (201-98, college: Bridgeport) who added 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Power forward Javier Nicolau (208-97, college: UMC) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and Jon Galarza (195-97) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cartagena moved-up to second place in Silver. Alginet at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Cartagena will meet Cornella (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Alginet will play against Valencia 2 and hope to secure a win.
