There was no surprise in Denizl where 9th ranked Merkezefendi (1-7) was crushed by second ranked Besiktas (7-1) 96-73 on Sunday. Besiktas forced 34 Merkezefendi turnovers and outrebounded them 49-25 including a 23-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Ugur Sezer (-4) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 rebounds and Yigit Coban (-2) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Basar Adak (-3) responded with 11 points and Fikri Odunkesenler (-4) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Besiktas maintains second position in League with 7-1 record behind leader Anadolu Efes. Newly promoted Merkezefendi keeps the ninth place with seven games lost. Besiktas will meet at home TED Ankara (#6) in the next round. Merkezefendi will play against Bahcesehir in Acibadem and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
