Regular Season Round 8: M.Rishon - H.Galil Gilboa 94-100

Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Galil Gilboa (4-4) won against bottom-ranked Maccabi Rishon (1-7) in Rishon Le-Zion 100-94 on Monday. Galil Gilboa looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by British-American power forward Sacha Killeya-Jones (212-98, college: NC State) who scored that evening 27 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks and American power forward Derek Cooke Jr (206-91, college: Wyoming) supported him with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Four Galil Gilboa players scored in double figures. Even 29 points and 9 rebounds by American swingman Kris Clyburn (198-96, college: UNLV) did not help to save the game for Maccabi Rishon. His fellow American import point guard Tu Holloway (183-89, college: Xavier) added 30 points for the hosts. Galil Gilboa moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bnei Hertzeliya and H.Beer Sheva. Maccabi Rishon lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Galil Gilboa will meet at home Hapoel Haifa (#9) in the next round. Maccabi Rishon will play against Hapoel Eilat and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
