Very expected game in Sinj where 10th ranked Alkar (3-10) was defeated by fifth ranked Gorica (8-5) 76-71 on Wednesday. Point guard Borna Kapusta (182-96) fired 18 points and 5 assists for the winners. The former international Mate Kalajzic (189-98, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 15 points and 4 steals. American guard Patrick McGlynn (188-92, college: URI, agency: GoEmpire Group) produced 19 points and 6 assists and naturalized Australian swingman Dominic Gilbert (201-96, college: UBC, agency: BIG) added 15 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) respectively for lost side. Four Alkar players scored in double figures. Alkar's coach Marko Trninic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gorica have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 8-5 record. Loser Alkar dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Dubrava. Gorica will meet at home higher ranked Cibona (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alkar will play against Sonik P. (#9) in Zadar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
