Regular Season Round 14: Pyrinto - KTP Basket 78-75

There was an upset in Tampere where higher ranked KTP Basket (8-6) was edged by ninth ranked Pyrinto (6-8) 78-75 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But KTP Basket won third quarter 25-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Ike Smith (193-97, college: Georgia South) who scored 23 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Forward Devante Foster (206-98, college: Arkansas Tech, agency: One Motive Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Pyrinto's coach Miikka Sopanen used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Urald King (198-90, college: SE Oklahoma) produced 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Antwon Lillard (198-95, college: BGSU, agency: One Motive Sports) added 17 points respectively for the guests. Five Pyrinto and four KTP Basket players scored in double figures. Pyrinto moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Nokia. Loser KTP Basket keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Pyrinto will meet bottom-ranked Korihait (#12) in the next round. KTP Basket will play against the league's second-placed Seagulls (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
