Regular Season Round 12: Leon - Betanzos 80-94

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Betanzos (6-7) defeated on the road higher ranked Leon (9-4) 94-80 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Leon 50-39 including 20 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was center Marcos Rozas (202-83) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Jose Maria Moreno (200-99) chipped in 8 points and 15 rebounds. Four Betanzos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Alan Morchon (188-99) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and forward Victor Perez (202-98) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Betanzos moved-up to eighth place in Group A-B, which they share with Univ.Valladolid and La Flecha. Loser Leon keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Betanzos will meet Oviedo 2 (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Leon will play against Marin (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
