Regular Season Round 6: Slask - Hamburg 87-71

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Wroclaw where 9th ranked German Hamburg Towers (1-5) were defeated by tenth ranked Polish WKS Slask (1-5) 87-71 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by WKS Slask. Hamburg Towers managed to win fourth quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. WKS Slask made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game, while Hamburg Towers only scored four points from the stripe. WKS Slask had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. American point guard Travis Trice II (183-93, college: Michigan St.) scored 18 points and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Aleksander Dziewa (205-97, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 18 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American Seth Hinrichs (200-93, college: Lafayette) with 16 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Caleb Homesley (198-96, college: Liberty) scored 13 points and 6 assists. Hamburg Towers' coach tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. WKS Slask left bottom position moving up to eighth place in Group A, which they share with Trento and Hamburg. WKS Slask will meet league's leader Partizan NiS in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Hamburg Towers will play against the league's second-placed Lokomotiv (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
