Everything went according to plan when second ranked Agrigento (9-2) outleveled on the road 7th ranked Pozzuoli (5-6) 85-56 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Pozzuoli 44-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for naturalized Argentinian forward Albano Chiarastella (195-85, agency: BIG) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Cosimo Costi (203-0, agency: Players Group) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. Five Agrigento players scored in double figures. Montenegrin power forward Fatih Mehmedovic (205-0, agency: SLN) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Antonio Gallo (182-0, agency: Players Group) scored 7 points and 6 assists. Pozzuoli's coach Valerio Spinelli gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Agrigento maintains second place in B with 9-2 record behind leader Roseto, which they share with Mestre and Cremona. Loser Pozzuoli dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Desio and Monfalcone. Agrigento will meet at home Torrenova (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
