Regular Season Round 12: Inter Bratislava - Iskra Svit 84-92

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked Inter Bratislava (4-7) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Iskra Svit (4-7) 92-84 on Wednesday. Iskra Svit dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Inter Bratislava's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Serbian point guard Sasa Avramovic (193-93, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American Garrius Holloman (198-89, college: BCU) chipped in 23 points. Holloman is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Iskra Svit players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Puerto Rican point guard Ivan Gandia-Rosa (185-97, college: UNF) who recorded 34 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Bosnian forward Jure Zubac (203-95, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 21 points and 18 rebounds respectively. Inter Bratislava's coach Oleg Meleshchenko rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Iskra Svit moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Inter Bratislava. Iskra Svit will meet at home league's second-placed Komarno in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Inter Bratislava will play against Prievidza (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
