Regular Season Round 8: Atomeromu - Venezia 51-65

The game between closely ranked teams ended with bottom-ranked Hungarian Atomeromu's (0-8) home loss to seventh ranked Italian Venezia (3-5) 51-65 on Wednesday. Venezia outrebounded Atomeromu 38-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Senegalese-Spanish center Astou Ndour (198-94) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Kayla Thornton (185-92, college: UTEP, agency: Shark Sports Management) who added 12 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Venezia players scored in double figures. American-Hungarian forward Cyesha Goree (191-93, college: Michigan) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and point guard Agnes Studer (170-98) scored 10 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending Italian champion moved-up to fifth place in Group A, which they share with TTT Riga. Atomeromu at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Venezia will meet at home league's leader UMMC in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Atomeromu will play against Gazelles (#4) in Montpellier and hopes to get finally their first victory.
