Regular Season Round 9: Antibes - ASA 93-85

There was no surprise when 14th ranked ASA (3-6) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Olympique Antibes (5-4) 93-85 on Friday. Olympique Antibes made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Ludovic Negrobar (208-91) stepped up and scored 23 points for the winners and American-Italian swingman Timothy Derksen (192-93, college: USF) chipped in 21 points. The best for the losing side was Anthony Racine (190-94) with 20 points and Croatian center Ivan Vranes (207-96, agency: Interperformances) scored 19 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olympique Antibes moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted ASA dropped to the fifteenth position with six games lost. They share it with Denain. Olympique Antibes will meet Nantes (#8) on the road in the next round. ASA will play against JA Vichy (#11) and hope to secure a win.
