There was no surprise when 10th ranked Hagen-Haspe (5-7) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Leverkusen 2 (8-5) 89-82 on Friday. Leverkusen 2 made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Leverkusen 2 outrebounded Hagen-Haspe 43-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. Robert Merz (198-0) stepped up and scored 26 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and guard Daniel Merkens (184-96) chipped in 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Leverkusen 2's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
