Regular Season Round 19: K.Sokoly - Kyiv Basket 85-73

The game between third ranked Kyiv Basket (12-5) and fourth ranked K.Sokoly (12-6) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Kyiv Basket was defeated by K.Sokoly in Kharkiv 73-85. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kyiv Basket. Kyiv Basket was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 28-13 charge of K.Sokoly, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Kyiv Basket's 20. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Mike Davis (193-96, college: Queens, NC) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Serbian power forward Aleksandar Zecevic (207-96, college: FAU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Bernard Thompson (191-93, college: FGCU) answered with 19 points and 5 assists and the other American import point guard Avery Woodson (188-93, college: Butler) added 18 points in the effort for Kyiv Basket. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. K.Sokoly have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 12-6 record. Kyiv Basket at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. K.Sokoly are looking forward to face Ternopil-TNEU (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kyiv Basket will play against Dnipro (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
