Regular Season Round 14: Neptunas - Nevezis 94-87

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Nevezis (3-8) lost to ninth ranked Neptunas (3-7) in Klaipeda 87-94 on Sunday. Neptunas made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Neptunas outrebounded Nevezis 48-35 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The former international forward Deividas Gailius (200-88, agency: Octagon Europe) notched 20 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and the former international guard Zygimantas Janavicius (193-89, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Even 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by Senegalese power forward Amar Sylla (206-1) did not help to save the game for Nevezis. International Vytenis Cizauskas (187-92) added 14 points and 8 assists for the guests. Four Neptunas and five Nevezis players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Neptunas moved-up to eighth place. Loser Nevezis dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
