There was no surprise in Gamarde les Bains where 11th ranked Dax-Gamarde (5-11) was defeated by third ranked Poitiers (11-5) 79-72 on Friday. Poitiers outrebounded Dax-Gamarde 42-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-88, college: Colorado) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 rebounds and Croatian Lovro Mazalin (204-97) who added 11 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Christopher Dauby (193-99) responded with 14 points and Eric Bosc (199-93) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Poitiers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with Rueil. Loser Dax-Gamarde keeps the eleventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Rennes. Poitiers will meet at home Les Sables (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dax-Gamarde will play against JSA Bordeaux and hope to secure a win.
