Regular Season Round 12: Almansa - Castello 94-65

We should mention about the upset which took place in Almansa, where higher ranked Castello (7-5) was outleveled in a road game by fourteenth ranked Almansa (5-7) 94-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Castello. Almansa dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Castello's 22. It was a good game for American Jalen Nesbitt (198-93, college: UNF) who led his team to a victory with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American-Dominican Eddy Polanco (190-94, college: SE Louisiana) contributed with 22 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Almansa players scored in double figures. American forward Eric Stutz (205-92, college: EKU) replied with 14 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and his fellow American import forward Calvin Hermanson (200-94, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 15 points in the effort for Castello. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Almansa moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Girona. Castello at the other side keeps the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Coruna. Almansa will play against bottom-ranked Palma (#18) in S'Arenal in the next round where they are favorite. Castello will play on the road against Caceres (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
