Regular Season Round 21: Khimik - K.Sokoly 74-72

The most exciting game of round 21 in the Superleague took place in Yuzhny. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 4th placed K.Sokoly (13-7) to sixth ranked Khimik (11-10) 74-72 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of K.Sokoly. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But K.Sokoly won third quarter 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Christian Jones (201-93, college: UNLV, agency: BeoBasket) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds. U.S. Virgin Islands guard Deon Edwin (190-92, college: Kent St.) chipped in 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian power forward Aleksandar Zecevic (207-96, college: FAU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Dajuan Graf (185-92, college: NCCU) added 12 points and 6 assists respectively. Four K.Sokoly players scored in double figures. K.Sokoly's coach Valeriy Plehanov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Khimik maintains sixth place with 11-10 record. K.Sokoly at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Khimik are looking forward to face higher ranked Dnipro (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. K.Sokoly will play against Odessa and is hoping to win this game.
