Regular Season Round 10: Vichy Clermont - ASA 73-69

There was no surprise when 15th ranked ASA (3-7) lost on the road to eleventh ranked JA Vichy (5-5) 73-69 on Friday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Cameroonian guard Samir Gbetkom Bikantchou (191-98) notched 19 points to lead the effort and Nigerien center Serge Mourtala (212-98) supported him with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Even 20 points and 5 rebounds by American point guard Marquis Wright (185-95, college: Siena) did not help to save the game for ASA. Power forward Jerome Cazenobe (204-89) added 5 points and 13 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. JA Vichy moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted ASA dropped to the sixteenth position with seven games lost. JA Vichy will meet ALM Evreux (#17) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ASA will play against Saint-Quentin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
