Very important is a road loss of second ranked Saarlouis (8-3) against seventh ranked Fellbach (6-6) on Sunday night. Visiting Saarlouis were defeated by Fellbach in a tough game in Fellbach 91-96. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Saarlouis. Fellbach looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Saarlouis' players. Andre Gillette had a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Lars Berger (194-96) chipped in 25 points during the contest. American guard TJ Lang (201-95, college: S.Florida) responded with 30 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and his fellow American import guard Ricky Easterling (189-83, college: Bridgewater) scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. Fellbach maintains seventh position in South West with 6-6 record. Loser Saarlouis keep the second place with three games lost. Fellbach will meet Mannheim (#13) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Saarlouis will play against Bensheim (#14) and hope to secure a win.
