Regular Season Round 9: Cherno More - Shumen 71-76

Shumen's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after eight consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Varna, where they defeated Cherno More (1-9) 76-71. They outrebounded Cherno More 43-30 including a 37-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Serbian center Dejan Bjelic (209-90) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 22 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Marcus Myers (185-96, college: Aurora) chipped in 10 points and 9 assists. The best for the losing side was guard Martin Kotsev (195-98, agency: BIG) with 26 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals and Martin Stefanov (205-0) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Shumen (1-8) left bottom position moving up to ninth place. It was Cherno More's eighth loss in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with nine games lost. Shumen will play against league's leader Rilski in Samokov in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cherno More will play at home against the league's second-placed Levski (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
