Regular Season Round 16: Lucenec - Prievidza 93-76

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Prievidza (0-14) was defeated on the road by third ranked Lucenec (9-7) 93-76 on Wednesday. Lucenec dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Prievidza's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Prievidza's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Taylor Johns (201-94, college: UC Riverside, agency: Slash Sports) who helped to win the game recording 32 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists (on 15-of-16 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Desure Buie (179-97, college: Hofstra) who added 16 points and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side Canadian forward Alonzo Walker (198-96, college: Portland St.) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Josh McFolley (185-97, college: Detroit) scored 21 points. Five Lucenec and four Prievidza players scored in double figures. Prievidza's coach Maros Helmecy tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Lucenec maintains third position with 9-7 record having three points less than leader Levice. Loser Prievidza still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Lucenec will meet Inter Bratislava (#5) on the road in the next round. Prievidza will play against Handlova and hopes to get finally their first victory.
