Very expected game when 14th ranked MBC (4-10) lost on the road to eighth ranked Chemnitz (9-5) 91-74 on Sunday. Chemnitz made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by MBC's players. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Darion Atkins (203-92, college: Virginia) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. American-Haitian guard Frantz Massenat (193-92, college: Drexel) accounted for 13 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Chemnitz players scored in double figures. Johannes Richter (205-93) came up with 12 points and 7 rebounds and Kostja Mushidi (195-98) added 14 points respectively for MBC in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Chemnitz moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Ulm. MBC lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with ten games lost. They share it with Heidelberg. Chemnitz will meet league's second-placed Bayern Muenchen on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MBC will play against ratiopharm Ulm (#6) and hope to secure a win.
