No shocking result in a game when second ranked Chernomorets (9-2) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Shumen (1-10) 77-68. Chernomorets dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Shumen's 24. They outrebounded Shumen 56-37 including a 41-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Colombian Tonny Trocha-Morelos (208-94, college: Texas A&M) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 23 rebounds. American center Wendell Lewis (208-89, college: Alabama St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Chernomorets players scored in double figures. American point guard Marcus Myers (185-96, college: Aurora) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals and Serbian center Dejan Bjelic (209-90) added 12 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Shumen. Shumen's coach Yanko Yankov tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Chernomorets maintains second place with 9-2 record having just two points less than leader Rilski. Newly promoted Shumen dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. They share it with Cherno More. Chernomorets will play against Levski (#4) in Sofia in the next round. Shumen will play on the road against Akademik P. (#7) in Plovdiv to get more than just one victory in their record.
