Very expected game when 13th ranked CFBB (5-12) was smashed on the road by third ranked STB Le Havre (11-5) 72-53 on Thursday. STB Le Havre dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to CFBB's 28. They outrebounded CFBB 35-21 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Oumarou Sylla (185-92) nailed 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: PFW) accounted for 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Aurele Brena-Chemille (192-4) came up with 13 points and 4 steals and point guard Rayan Rupert (196-4) added 10 points respectively for CFBB in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for STB Le Havre. They maintain third place in Group B with 11-5 record having four points less than leader Caen. Loser CFBB keeps the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. STB Le Havre will meet Kaysersberg (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CFBB will play against Besancon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
