Regular Season Round 15: Prostejov - Novy Jicin 80-81

The most exciting game of round 15 in the 1Liga took place in Prostejov. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 7th ranked Prostejov (6-9) to fourth ranked Novy Jicin (9-5) 81-80 on Friday evening. It was a good game for the former international center Vaclav Bujnoch (200-93, college: Des Moines A.) who saved his team from a defeat with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Italian Gianluca Prosek (197-0) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Guard Adam Siska (184-2) answered with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and Jakub Rytir (183-3) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Prostejov. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Novy Jicin have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 9-5 record. Prostejov at the other side dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with USK Praha B. Novy Jicin are looking forward to face Vysocina (#9) in Jihlava in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Prostejov will play on the road against Brno 2 and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
