Regular Season Round 15: Rendsburg - Vechta 2 115-112

The biggest surprise took place in Rendsburg where host Rendsburg (8-7) edged league's leader Vechta-2 (11-4) 115-112 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Vechta-2. Rendsburg looked well-organized offensively handing out 43 assists. The best player for the winners was Swedish guard Andree Michelsson (188-97) who had a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 15 assists. Forward Henning Rixen (196-99) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was Kevin Smit (183-91) who recorded a triple-double by scoring 48 points (!!!), 16 rebounds, 11 assists and 8 steals and Tim Insinger (209-97) added 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rendsburg moved-up to fifth place in North. Vechta-2 at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Aschersleben. They were replaced at the leadership position by Stuttgart. Vechta-2 will play next round against WSG Koenigs trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Rendsburg will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Neustadt TSV on the road.
