Regular Season Round 15: Svitavy - Brno 2 107-64

Rather predictable result when first ranked Svitavy (14-1) rolled over at home 3rd placed Brno 2 (10-6) 107-64 on Saturday. Svitavy dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Brno 2's 30. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Svitavy looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Brno 2's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Svitavy made 8 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for forward Jakub Jokl (206-96, college: Utah) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 blocks. The former international guard Pavel Slezak (186-84) accounted for 21 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Five Svitavy players scored in double figures. Svitavy's coach Petr Balint felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Simon Svoboda (194-4) came up with 12 points and 8 rebounds and guard Adam Lukes (191-4) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Brno 2 in the defeat. Svitavy maintains first place with 14-1 record, which they share with Slavia Praha. Newly promoted Brno 2 keeps the third position with six games lost. Svitavy will meet league's second-placed Ostrava on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Brno 2 will play against Prostejov and hope to secure a win.
