Regular Season Round 15: Begastri - Molina 78-73

There was a small surprise in Cehegin where fifth ranked Begastri (6-7) won against 3rd placed Molina (7-6) 78-73 on Saturday. Begastri dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Molina's 20 and made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for power forward Jose Fernandez (200-78) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Jose Antonio Marco (179-89) helped adding 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was Francisco Garrido (197-0) with 18 points and 6 rebounds and forward Rene Cadme (194-99) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Molina's coach Javi Piqueras tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Begastri maintains fifth place with 6-7 record. Newly promoted Molina dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Begastri will meet Ilicitano (#8) in the next round. Molina will play against UAF Lucentum (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
