Regular Season Round 17: Iskra Cz - Rybnik 77-80

There was a surprise result in Czestochowa where fifteenth ranked Rybnik (3-13) edged higher ranked Iskra Cz (5-12) 80-77 on Saturday. Rybnik made 29-of-35 free shots (82.9 percent) during the game, while Iskra Cz only scored eight points from the stripe. Rybnik forced 20 Iskra Cz turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Kacper Wydra (180-0) who scored 21 points and 4 steals. Igor Lewandowski (185-3) chipped in 17 points. Rybnik's coach Jakub Krakowczyk used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Jaroslaw Fomiczow (192-94) produced 21 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and guard Michal Czekaj (187-90) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Rybnik moved-up to fourteenth place in Group C. Newly promoted Iskra Cz keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Rybnik will meet higher ranked MKS DG 2 (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Iskra Cz will play against Cracovia (#6) in Krakow and hope to secure a win.
