Regular Season Round 18: ZZ Leiden - Den Bosch 85-70

Undefeated Den Bosch (14-1) recorded its first loss on the court of second ranked Leiden on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Leiden 85-70. It ended at the same time the 13-game winning streak of Den Bosch. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian power forward Einaras Tubutis (207-98) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. Danish center Asbjoern Midtgaard (213-97, college: GCU) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Five Leiden players scored in double figures. Leiden's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Moroccan-Dutch forward Mohamed Kherrazi (200-90) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American power forward Mike Carlson (206-91, college: Truman St.) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Leiden (13-2) have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending Dutch champion maintains second position having just two point less than leader Den Bosch. Den Bosch at the other side still keeps top place with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
