Regular Season Round 17: Kaysersberg - Caen 73-80

NM1 top team - Caen (14-3) added another victory to their record. This time they beat eleventh ranked Kaysersberg (5-11) 80-73. Caen dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Kaysersberg's 34. They outrebounded Kaysersberg 40-23 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Caen players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Point guard Olivier Romain (183-88) stepped up and scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and swingman Florian Thibedore (193-90) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Caen's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Naturalized Ivorian point guard Maxence Dadiet (192-99) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Ivorian forward Tiegbe Bamba (204-91, college: Portland St.) scored 17 points. Caen maintains first place in Group B with 14-3 record. Kaysersberg lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Besancon. Caen will play against C'Chartres (#5) at home in the next round. Kaysersberg will play against STB Le Havre (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
