Very expected game when 11th ranked Samara-2 (4-22) lost to seventh ranked Unics-2 (13-13) in Kazan 63-71 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 17-7 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Unics-2 dominated on the defensive end, holding Samara-2 to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Samara-2's 22. They outrebounded Samara-2 41-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. Guard Anatoly Gunter (183-3) notched 18 points to lead the effort and guard Sergey Polstyanov (194-2) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line).
