Regular Season Round 19: Iskra Svit - Inter Bratislava 82-72

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Iskra Svit (7-11) defeated at home 5th ranked Inter Bratislava (9-10) 82-72 on Saturday. Iskra Svit forced 21 Inter Bratislava turnovers. Strangely Inter Bratislava outrebounded Iskra Svit 42-27 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American swingman Ian Edward Kinard (203-97, college: SC State) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 9 rebounds. Serbian point guard Sasa Avramovic (193-93, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 18 points. Kinard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American point guard Trevor Blondin (193-96, college: Seton Hill) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Dziugas Slavinskas (203-98) scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Iskra Svit maintains seventh place with 7-11 record. Inter Bratislava at the other side keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Iskra Svit will meet league's second-placed Komarno on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Inter Bratislava will play against Prievidza and hope to secure a win.
