Very predictable result when leader TTT Riga (14-0) smashed at home 8th ranked RSU (5-7) 83-54 on Saturday. The game without a history. TTT Riga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to RSU's 26. They outrebounded RSU 39-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. Lithuanian center Daugile Sarauskaite (196-96) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Laura Meldere (190-1) chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Five TTT Riga players scored in double figures. TTT Riga's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Latvian Alise Bruzinska (176-97) produced 17 points and guard Mara Mote (178-0, college: Arizona) added 7 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The victory was the fourteenth consecutive win for TTT Riga. Defending Latvian champion maintains first place with 14-0 record. Loser RSU keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with TalTech. TTT Riga's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Riga to the arena BJBS RJ.
