Regular Season Round 25: Zaporizhye - Mykolaiv 73-72

Twelfth-ranked Mykolaiv (4-20) was very close to win a game against seventh ranked Zaporizhye (12-12) in Zaporozhye. Zaporizhye managed to secure only one-point victory 73-72. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-16. But Mykolaiv won second period 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Mykolaiv 41-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. American guard Daeshon Francis (193-96, college: UTPB) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and the former international forward Alexander Sizov (197-88) chipped in 22 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Zaporizhye players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Andre Walker (186-96, college: Loyola, MD) responded with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Croatian center Matej Radunic (211-96) scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Zaporizhye moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Khimik. Mykolaiv lost eleventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. Zaporizhye will play against Odessa (#10) on the road in the next round. Mykolaiv will play against K.Sokoly and hopes to get back on the winning track.
