Regular Season Round 18: Breogan - Joventut 87-90

The most exciting game of round 18 in the Liga Endesa took place in Lugo. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 7th ranked Breogan (8-7) to third ranked Joventut (10-5) 90-87 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Breogan. The best player for the winners was international guard Ferran Bassas (181-92) who scored 19 points. Croatian center Ante Tomic (217-87, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 9 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Bosnian swingman Dzanan Musa (205-99, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded 22 points and Austrian-Slovenian center Rasid Mahalbasic (210-90, agency: BeoBasket) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Four Breogan players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Joventut maintains third position with 10-5 record having six points less than leader Real Madrid, which they share with Manresa. Breogan at the other side dropped to the ninth place with seven games lost. Joventut is looking forward to face Burgos (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Breogan will play against Manresa (#4) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
