The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Saint Chamond (11-3) on the court of tenth ranked Saint Vallier on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by Saint Vallier 96-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Saint Chamond. Saint Vallier made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Spanish guard Marcos Suka-Umu (193-85) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists. Florent Tortosa (198-89) contributed with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Mathieu Guichard (187-88) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 assists and American-Nigerian guard Michael Oguine (188-96, college: Montana) added 13 points and 5 assists in the effort for Saint Chamond. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Saint Vallier went down to eleventh position due to points difference, which they share with Lille. Saint Chamond at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost. Saint Vallier is looking forward to face higher ranked Sluc Nancy (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Saint Chamond will play against Boulazac Basket and is hoping to win this game.
