Regular Season Round 14: ASA - Chalon 83-87

There was no surprise when 17th ranked ASA (4-9) lost to second ranked Chalon/Saor (10-4) in Gries 83-87 on Tuesday. American guard Desi Washington (188-92, college: St.Peter's) notched 23 points to lead the effort and American-Bahamas forward Jonathan Augustin-Fairell (201-93, college: Murray St.) supported him with 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Even 32 points by American point guard Marquis Wright (185-95, college: Siena) did not help to save the game for ASA. Cyrille Eliezer-Vanerot (203-96) added 10 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. ASA's coach Stephane Eberlin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chalon/Saor have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 10-4 record behind leader St-Chamond. Newly promoted ASA keeps the seventeenth place with nine games lost. Chalon/Saor will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. ASA will play against Quimper UJAP (#10) and hope to secure a win.
