There was a small surprise when seventh ranked French Metropolitans (5-5) beat 5th ranked Turkish Turk Telekom (5-5) in Levallois 99-82 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Metropolitans led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Metropolitans looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American point guard Will Cummings (188-92, college: Temple) notched 26 points to lead the effort and Israeli Tomer Ginat (202-94, agency: Avi Zilberman) supported him with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 21 points and 7 assists by Mexican point guard Alexander Perez-Kaufmann (191-93, agency: Pro Sports) did not help to save the game for Turk Telekom. American center Octavius Ellis (208-93, college: Cincinnati, agency: Network Sports International) added 13 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Five Metropolitans and four Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. Metropolitans moved-up to fifth place in Group A. Metropolitans will meet bottom-ranked WKS Slask (#9) in the next round. Turk Telekom will play against the league's leader Partizan NiS and hope to secure a win.
