No shocking result in a game when second ranked Granada (12-3) crushed at home 9th ranked Castello (7-7) 86-66. Granada made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Granada outrebounded Castello 40-21 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a great evening for Senegalese center Mamadou Niang (209-94) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Point guard Lluis Costa (187-93, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 10 points and 9 assists. Five Granada players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Eric Stutz (205-92, college: EKU) with 14 points and the other American import forward Calvin Hermanson (200-94, college: St.Mary's, CA) scored 10 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Granada have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 12-3 record having just one point less than leader Estudiantes. Castello lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Almansa. Granada will play against Alicante (#13) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Castello will have a break next round.
