Regular Season Round 15: Nancy - Saint Vallier 96-50

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Sluc Nancy (10-5) smashed at home 10th ranked Saint Vallier (7-8) 96-50 on Friday. They outrebounded Saint Vallier 42-30 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sluc Nancy looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Caleb Walker (194-86, college: Nebraska) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Lucas Ugolin (196-2) helped adding 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Sluc Nancy players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Senegalese power forward Papa Beye (202-90) with 13 points and 7 rebounds and Lithuanian point guard Ovidijus Varanauskas (188-91, agency: Players Group) scored 6 points and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sluc Nancy maintains third place with 10-5 record having just two points less than leader St-Chamond. Newly promoted Saint Vallier keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Quimper and Lille. Sluc Nancy will meet Lille Metropole (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Saint Vallier will play against Boulazac Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
