Regular Season Round 15: AIK Basket - IK Eos 110-97

Another upset was a game between IK Eos (8-5) and AIK Basket (2-8), which took place in Solna. 4th placed IK Eos lost to eleventh ranked AIK Basket in a road game 97-110 on Saturday. AIK Basket shot 66.1 percent from the field and made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game, while IK Eos only scored four points from the stripe. AIK Basket shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 69.6 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized Turkish Erkan Inan (195-89) who led the winners and scored 50 points (!!!) (on 18-of-23 shooting from the field). Point guard Mario Blazevic (180-93) accounted for 24 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals for the winning side. Guard Joel Svensson (185-96) came up with 30 points and 8 assists and guard David Niklasson (193-95, college: N.Platte CC) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively for IK Eos in the defeat. AIK Basket moved-up to tenth place. Loser IK Eos keep the fourth position with five games lost. AIK Basket will meet higher ranked Ockelbo (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. IK Eos will play against the league's second-placed KFUM Uppsala (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
