Regular Season Round 18: E.Netanya - E.Kiryat Ata 105-87

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked E.Netanya (8-7) beat at home 5th ranked E.Kiryat Ata (9-5) 105-87 on Saturday. E.Netanya forced 21 E.Kiryat Ata turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was forward DeSean Parsons (201-95, college: Portland St.) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Justin Robinson (206-96, college: Duke) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Amin Stevens (203-90, college: FAMU, agency: BIG) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and guard Kenney Funderburk (193-92, college: Columbus St.) added 24 points and 5 assists respectively. Five E.Netanya and four E.Kiryat Ata players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. E.Netanya moved-up to sixth place, which they share with H.Afula. Loser E.Kiryat Ata keeps the fifth position with five games lost. E.Netanya will meet at home M.Ashdod (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. E.Kiryat Ata will play against M.Raanana (#11) and hope to secure a win.
